Elon Musk stated the monthly fare for Twitter Blue Tick
As Elon Musk takes over Twitter, his initial moves are making a good stir in society. He announced that Twitter will charge $8 (Rs 600) monthly from users who want blue tick accounts by their name signifying a verified account. As the blue tick certifies the identity of the owner, so the decision put widespread chaos in the whole nation.
He made this move believing that this move would generate revenue for the social media platform and that Twitter doesn’t have to rely on advertisers for the funds. The app will become financially more stable in the upcoming years. The new owner of the microblogging site said that the step will also create significant earnings for the content creators on the site.
Moreover, the platform’s blue tick fees will range differently in various regions, with the fares adjusted differently from country to country.
The world’s richest person, Mr. Musk said that those who are going to take the initiative to buy the service will have priority in searches and replies.
The billionaire made it to Twitter, “Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.” However, the SpaceX founder has updated his Twitter bio by mentioning “Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator” on the page.
In addition, the Tesla CEO is in a tremendous dilemma as he works to overhaul the businesses on the app which is not bringing profit in the past few years.
How is this different from the previous method of providing blue ticks?
Twitter’s prior method of providing blue ticks is by filling out an application form that is reserved for those only who are famous in some or another way, like celebrities, journalists, or awardees in a particular field. But now by bursting this system and bringing a new way to the existence of Blue tick monthly subscription Elon has made changes to the app.
The process is also free of cost, users who are applying for the blue tick or the ones who are already eligible for one will not owe anything, and most importantly people can also reapply after every month or 30 days.
Most of the users claimed that the fee is unreasonable for the platform but Mr. Musk is playing hard to prove that the point is valid in every aspect. With this, the future of the social media platform seems to be in huge trouble.
